FAQ

*  All locations below have funding applications pending, to be confirmed mid-to-late April 2025.  It is important that you provide accurate information in your application to indicate where you are actually able to work, as your first choice of location may not be available, and your work may need to be located outside of your hometown, pending approvals as funding is limited in each community.

Community Leaders:  Please feel free to reach out to us and suggest community connections you would like to introduce us to, or for us to follow up with to best serve your community!  This is very helpful for us and for the youth, and builds strong community connections for years to come!  You can also refer community groups, small business celebrations and public events to request youth to support local initiatives by filling out the request form here.  We confirm event support once GCOS sends us the approved program details for each funded location.   Thank you so much for the support of youth in your communities!

  • Each funded position is tied to a federal geo-political jurisdiction called a "constituency", also known as a "riding".  Your postal code and this web site will tell you what constituency you presently live in.  Alternatively, you can look up other locations to explore this information.   We are funded for specific locations, not for all locations.

Your constituency is where your work is funded to take place, and where your contract is situated.  This is primary location you will physically perform in, and work for the benefit of.  However we may also schedule you to perform in any locations you indicated as preferred primary/secondary locations on your application, as we must ensure to fulfil our commitments to each community.

Above is a map with the Regional Tourism Office territories, superimposed with the Federal Constituencies, to try to help make it easier for you to understand the physical locations.
